Promissory & Proprietary Estoppel

In general, promises to leave a gift by will are not enforceable. In most circumstances, people are free to make promises about gifts by will and later change their minds. However, where certain legal requirements are met, a person who has been promised an inheritance, and has relied on that promise, can take legal action to enforce it. At de VRIES LITIGATION, we have experience prosecuting and defending proprietary and promissory estoppel claims.
