Advice to Beneficiaries

An income or capital beneficiary of a trust or estate may feel that a trust has been mismanaged or that the beneficiary’s interests have not been properly safeguarded by the trustee(s).  We provide solid advice to beneficiaries seeking to hold trustees accountable for their administration of a will or trust.

When appropriate, we can also initiate legal action against the trustee(s) to recover investment losses, or challenge trustee compensation. We can also start a court application to seek the advice and direction of the court regarding the proper investment “mix” for the trust or even to vary or wind up the trust.  We also advocate for beneficiaries who wish to remove a trustee for self-dealing, dereliction of duty, or bias.
